Police Seeking Witnesses to Kealakekua Traffic Collision

The Hawai‘i Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in gathering information about a recent motor vehicle collision in Kealakekua. The incident took place on Monday evening, March 25, 2024, on Māmalahoa Highway, at the intersection of Keopuka Mauka Road.

According to reports, at 9:29 p.m., Kona patrol officers attempted to stop a 2014 silver Honda Accord on Highway 11 near Konawaena School Road. The vehicle failed to pull over, drove recklessly, and eventually crashed into an embankment.

In light of these events, Kona Patrol Officer Rickielee Kamakau has urged witnesses to come forward.
