The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) Food Safety Branch has allowed U-Choice In, a food establishment at 801 Kaheka St., to reopen after a follow-up inspection confirmed that water backup issues in the kitchen had been resolved. The restaurant, operated by Sino Mart Enterprise, Inc., was initially closed on February 26 after receiving a red placard due to the problem.

A DOH inspector visited the site again on February 27 and found that the water backup had been addressed. The inspector also verified with staff that the entire floor had been cleaned and sanitized.

The state government continues to focus on supporting communities through various initiatives, including expanding healthcare access and addressing homelessness with housing programs. Efforts are also being made to help areas affected by wildfires, such as Lahaina, and to promote renewable energy and climate change policies. These priorities are outlined on the official website of the Hawaii State Executive – Governor.

Other commitments from state leadership include advancing safe housing options, improving affordability through tax reforms, honoring veterans, and fostering collaboration across Hawaii’s regions. More information about these efforts can be found on the official website.
