The Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) has introduced a new centralized toll-free phone number, 1-844-808-DCCA (3222), to streamline access for residents, businesses, and consumers seeking DCCA services. The initiative consolidates multiple division lines into a single call center platform aimed at improving call routing, case tracking, and overall consumer support.

Some specialized phone lines, such as those within the Business Registration Division (BREG), will continue to operate independently during the transition. Existing DCCA numbers not yet integrated into the new system will remain active until a planned phase-out next year.

During the early stages of implementation, callers may experience longer wait times as the system stabilizes. A callback feature is available for most users. Over time, the department expects shorter wait times and more efficient service.

“By bringing our phone lines together and launching a dedicated call center, we’re reducing confusion, improving response times, and making sure everyone can get clear answers with just one call,” said Deputy Director Dean Hazama. “This is about creating a better experience for our community, we want contacting us to be simple, quick, and stress-free.”

The DCCA recommends that callers prepare relevant information before calling and use its website when possible for faster answers. The department also advises against using speakerphone when navigating automated menus or speaking with virtual agents and suggests calling from areas with stable reception to avoid dropped calls. Callers who know which division they need can state it directly or use menu prompts to reach their desired department.
