The 2025 Hawai’i Wildfire Summit, themed “Exploring our Wildfire Future,” commenced on February 24, 2025. The event features panels and sessions designed to address wildfire resilience and management.

According to Pickett, the summit serves as a platform for participants to gain insights from leading professionals in the field and build connections with peers, policymakers, and advocates. “Across the state, we need to face our increasing wildfire risks together and for the long term. We hope to ignite action by having everyone leave the summit committed and connected to each other, and with actionable knowledge, tools and resources to strengthen wildfire preparedness,” Pickett stated.

In addition to the main event, Home Ignition Zone Assessment and Mitigation (HIZAM) workshops are being offered one day before (February 26) and one day after (March 1) the summit. These workshops provide hands-on training focused on assessing wildfire risk potential and implementing mitigation measures.

Media coverage is encouraged throughout the summit.
