The Hawai‘i Community Development Authority (HCDA) is inviting members of the public to join a visioning workshop focused on updating the Kakaʻako Makai Area Plan. The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Barn at SALT, located at 327 Keawe Street in Honolulu.
This workshop aims to gather community input as part of the ongoing planning process for the Kakaʻako Makai area. Public participation is encouraged to help shape future development and ensure that the plan reflects local needs and priorities.
The Hawaii State Executive – Governor plays a role in supporting communities through recovery efforts and policy initiatives. These include addressing housing challenges, expanding healthcare access, and aiding regions affected by wildfires such as Lahaina. More information about these initiatives can be found on the official website.
Additionally, the governor’s office works with various partners to promote renewable energy projects and respond to climate change issues across Hawaii. Efforts also include tax reforms aimed at affordability and programs that address homelessness within a health care framework (official website).
Through these measures, state leadership continues to focus on public policy related to housing, climate change, and social recovery for all regions of Hawaii (official website).
