The West Coast Health Alliance has reaffirmed its support for vaccines, emphasizing that extensive research involving millions of people across several countries over many years has shown no link between vaccines and autism. The organization expressed concern about recent inaccurate statements on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website suggesting otherwise.

According to the Alliance, “Autism is a complex neurodevelopmental condition with multiple contributing genetic and environmental factors. Suggesting it stems from any single cause, such as vaccination, misleads families who deserve accurate guidance. It is not only a disservice to families seeking clarity about vaccines but also potentially harmful to autistic individuals and their families.”

The group highlighted that vaccines are thoroughly tested and remain essential for preventing infectious diseases. They stressed that public health recommendations regarding immunization should be based on credible scientific evidence in order to support parents and caregivers who may encounter conflicting information.

The Alliance also advised families to consult trusted health care providers and reputable medical organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics when seeking information about vaccines.
