Several local nurseries are set to be highlighted in the forthcoming Plant People Road Show, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. The event will be held at the Makaeo Pavilion at Old Kona Airport State Recreation Area.

According to a press release on The Hawaiian Islands website by Go Hawaii, the semiannual event offers free admission and gives attendees the chance to engage in direct dialogues with members of the local nursery community.

"The beauty of this event is attendees can ask us questions and readily get answers specific to their growing location and elevation," said Bob Harris of OrchidPeople in the release. "Our growers will also be offering fresh cut orchid and anthurium stems for Valentine gift-giving."

The event is set to showcase growers from all areas of Kailua-Kona.

Now in its 10th year, the Plant People Road Show organizes biannual sales around Valentine’s Day and Halloween, according to the release. Set within a direct nursery-customer environment, this platform enables growers to interact with the public, gather feedback, and provide expert growing advice.
