SOLID WASTE DIVISION: Appliance (White Goods) Collection Service Reopens at County Transfer Stations

Hawaii County Solid WASTE Division issued the following announcement on October 14.

The Solid Waste Division is reopening its appliance collection services at the following transfer stations:  Hilo, Kea‘au, Pāhoa, Volcano, Wai‘ōhinu, Pāhala, Ke‘ei, Kealakehe, Puakō, Waimea, Hāwī, Honoka‘a, and Laupāhoehoe.  Please visit https://www.hawaiizerowaste.org/recycle/appliances/ for a list of other metal recyclers.

Services will be offered as follows:

  • 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday). NO SUNDAY COLLECTIONS ACCEPTED.
  • Services available between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Only one appliance will be accepted per resident per day.

     

  • Customers need to check in with the facility attendant before dropping an appliance off at the facility. No unattended drop-offs are allowed.
