Census Bureau: More women than men in Hilo in 2019

Of the 45,056 people living in Hilo in 2019, 51.7 percent (23,302) were women and 48.3 percent (21,754) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Big Island Times.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 13,623-to-12,835. In the 65 and over age range, there were 4,937 females and 4,191 males.
