Hawaii’s plant-based food wholesaler VEDGEco is giving away 1,000 food boxes to independent restaurants around the nation.

The company is providing a $125 store credit to the first 1,000 independent restaurants that sign up for a free VEDGEco account, according to a VEDGEco news release. Restaurants can use the store credit on any food items from VEDGOco to create customized boxes.

VEDGEco, as stated on its website, features a variety of products from top plant-based brands including Alpha Foods, Daiya, ForA: Butter, Impossible, JUST Egg, The Be-Hive and Tofurky. Offered products fall into the categories of dairy, meat and seafood.

“Adding plant-based products to menus is proven to help increase foot traffic and sales,” VEDGEco Founder and CEO Trevor Hitch said in the release. “During these very difficult times, we wanted to do our part to make it easy and risk-free for independent restaurants to try plant-based ingredients and expand their menu offerings.”
