Morris Keiichi Ota, 89, of Holualoa died March 27 at home. Born in North Kona, he was an engineer for the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, member of Daifukuji Soto Mission, Mixed Bowling League team and coach in the Kona Lions Club basketball league.

Survived by companion, Judy De Mello of Holualoa; sisters, Doris (Raymond) Yanagi of Holualoa, Winifred Yamagata of Kealakekua and Sandra Ota of Holualoa; brothers, Leonard Ota of Lakewood, Calif., and Vernon Ota of Kaneohe, Oahu; nieces, nephews and cousins.
