Five West Hawai'i local businesses have partnered with an O'ahu company Krave Marketing to bring a drive-in theater to Kona, which opened recently.

The drive-in will be open in Hilo at the Grand Naniloa Hotel Golf Course from Thursday, April 29 until Sunday, May 2, a Big Island Now article said.

“There’s been nothing like this before on the Big Island,” Ben Marumoto, owner of Krave Marketing, hosting the same experience on O‘ahu, said.

Minoo Elison, principal broker of the real estate brokerage firm Connect Hawaii and a platinum sponsor of the event, said the drive-in is "helping bring family entertainment to the community I support."

The first showing, "The Croods 2 - A New Age," on April 22 sold out and was well-received during its opening weekend at Tony Honda Kona.

Upcoming shows will include “Moana,” “The Greatest Showman” and “The Goonies,” with tickets costing $30-$38 depending on popcorn.

Tickets can be ordered online at bigislandmovie.com.
