As summer kicks off, the Prince Dance Institute in North Hawaii is offering summer dance classes for all ages to participate.

There are a variety of classes being offered including, ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, tap, lyrical dance, keiki dance and more. Some classes have a specific age range, but there are some options that are open to anyone who is interested.

The studio was founded in 2004 by Angel Prince and is based out of the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea (Kamuela). Their mission is to "teach excellence in the performing arts and to provide a place for art appreciation, connection and education," according to the institute's website

For students and parents who are interested in joining summer classes but are concerned about safety precautions due to COVID-19, the Prince Dance Institute is maintaining social distancing in the studio and is sanitizing all class areas and equipment after each class. Temperature checks are also required, and parents are asked to stay at the door when dropping students off.

The institute also offers theater and critique classes, as well as acrobatic and aerial courses over the summer.

Those interested in signing up for the dance classes can either register online or in person. Scholarships and discounts are also available for those in need.
