Linda Ann Ha‘i Clark (D) was appointed by Gov. David Ige (D) to represent Hawaii's House District 13, which was left vacant after former Rep. Lynn DeCoite (D) was appointed to the Hawaii Senate District 7.

Clark will be serving the Maui community, which includes Haiku, Hāna, Kaupo, Kipahulu, Nahiku and Paia. She will also be representing Kaho'olawe, Lāna'i, Moloka'i and Molokini.

“I am extremely grateful for the appointment,” Clark said, according to a news release from the Office of the Governor. “I’d like to thank Gov. Ige for entrusting me. I’d also like to thank Sen. Lynn DeCoite and outgoing Sen. Kalani English for their years of service. I look forward to meeting my constituents as soon as possible.”

According to the Office of the Governor, she will take office once the state House qualifies her.

Clark is an independent process server for the Child Support Enforcement Agency of the state of Hawaii. She also currently serves as the president of the Kaupo Community Association and was previously with the Hāna Advisory Committee and a leader for 4H Maui. In her past career, she was a former administrator, office manager and clerical worker for Alternatives to Violence, First Hawaiian Bank and Maui Windows and Doors. Clark was also the owner/operator of Kupono and Friends Day Care Center from 1996 to 2003.

DeCoite replaced Sen. J. Kalani English, who retired in May due to health issues, according to Big Island Times.
