The Kona Trolley is back on the road again and has been operating since Aug. 1.

The County of Hawaii Mass Transit Agency, in partnership with Kailua-Kona businesses, has reintroduced the Kona Trolley route as Hele-On Route 201.

“The Kona Trolley is the hassle-free way to explore the hottest spots in town!” the County of Hawaii Mass Transit Agency stated on the Hele-On Bus website. “Just look for a Kona Trolley or Hele-On Bus Stop sign or flag the trolley at a safe location. No need to fight traffic. No getting directions. No parking. No problems. Aloha indeed.”

The route is between Kona Commons to Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa daily between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., every 60 minutes, according to Big Island Now.

The route makes stops at the Kona Brewing Company, Kona Coast Shopping Center, Kailua Pier, Coconut Grove Marketplace, Lanihau Center, Kona Inn Shopping Center, Royal Kona Resort, Royal Sea Cliff, Kona by the Sea, Kona Bali Kai, Magic Sands Beach, Kahalu'u Beach Park, Keauhou Shopping Center, Kona Country Club and Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa.

The general fare is $2, but seniors and differently abled riders get a $1 discount for one-way fares, Big Island Now reported. There are also 10-ride tickets and monthly passes available for purchase.
