James “Boogie” Keliihoukamoku Leleiwi, Jr., 69, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, died July 10, 2021, at his residence. Born in North Kona, Hawaii on July 10, 1952, he was a construction foreman and worked for Hawaiian Dredging, Goodfellow Brothers, Kiewit Construction, Dick Pacific Construction and Paul’s Electric Service.
A 10 a.m. mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona on August 28, 2021. The family requests casual attire. Mask-wearing and social distancing adheres to County of Hawaii mandates.
He is survived by his wife, Ugi Leleiwi; sons, James Leleiwi, III and Jason (Nohea) Leleiwi, all of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Hina Kimitete of Los Angeles, CA.; brothers, Russell (Sandra) Leleiwi of Ocean View, Morgan (Barbara) Leleiwi of Kailua-Kona, Clinton (Mary) Leleiwi of Longmont, CO.; sisters, Charlene Tolentino of Hilo and Lovenna Leleiwi of Kailua-Kona; brothers-in-law, Ernest Torricer and Samuel Kalele of Kalaoa, Kona; sisters-in-law, Pili Kalele and Noreen Kimitete of Kailua-Kona; 8 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by goddaughter, Nyaia Kimitete, Rotisha Hose, Kesha Ann Mori, all of Kailua-Kona.
