Mr. Eric “Buta” Tetsu Hayashi, age 49, of Hilo, Hawaii, died August 8, 2020 at the Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii on January 22, 1971 and was employed by the Hawaii County Fire Department as a Fire Equipment Operator. He was a member of the Lincoln Wreckers Athletic Association and Hawaii Fire Fighters Association.
A public visitation will be held on September 11, 2021 (Saturday) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Private memorial service to follow. Face masks and social-distancing required. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by companion, Barian Buyuan of Hilo; mother, Aileen Hayashi of Hilo; brother, Brandon (Monica Tupas) Hayashi of Hilo; maternal grandmother, Miyome Tanaka of Hilo; hanai-daughter, Tabitha Tomori of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
