Don't let these Big Island events pass you by without giving them a try.

The Aloha Stadium Craft and Gift Fair features various handcrafted products, clothing, jewelry, vintage collectibles and imported goods from Japan and Korea. Packaged snacks and island fruits are also available. There are hundreds of vendors. The fair is located in the upper Halawa parking lot (50th State Fair parking lot) at 99-500 Salt Lake Boulevard in Aiea. There is a $1 admission fee, but parking is free. The Craft and Gift fair will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Sunday, Oct. 17.

Play Scrabble at the Lava Shack every Saturday between 2 and 4 p.m. at15-2929 Pahoa Village Road in Pahoa. All skill levels are welcome and there is no charge. Call 661-858-4318 or email Celizsolange@gmail.com for further information.

Every Sunday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., find locally produced goods at the Farmers' Market at Hamakua Harvest. The farmers market is located at the intersection of Mamane Street and Highway 19 in Historic Honoka'a Town. In addition to fresh local produce, you'll find live music, ono food, an ocean view and a fun atmosphere. Leashed dogs are welcome at the market. Every Monday until Oct. 4, the Hilo Town Tavern -- located at 168 Keawe Street in Hilo -- welcomes singers, rappers, poets, bands and comedians for a free Open Mic Night, from 7 p.m. till 11:30 p.m. Happy hour prices last all night, and house guitar is provided.
