Miss Kristi Masako Hirata, age 52, of Hilo, Hawaii, died on October 4, 2021 at the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Hilo, Hawaii on April 13, 1969 and formerly lived on the island of Maui where she worked as an educational assistant at the University of Hawaii Maui College (Maui Community College) and as a training supervisor at Borders Books and Music Store.
A public visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, Hawaii on October 28, 2021 (Thursday) from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; memorial service to follow will be private. Face masks and social-distancing required. Casual attire is requested. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings).
She is survived by parents, Harris and Joyce Hirata of Hilo; sister, Jodi Hirata of Los Angeles, California; brother, Grant (Arpana) Hirata of Palm Springs, California; aunts, Gracie (George) Matsuo of Honolulu, Eileen (Paul) Hirota of Honolulu and Nan (Danny) Stavnshoj of Honolulu; nephews, Gage Hirata and Ryu Hirata; numerous cousins.
