On Tuesday, Dec. 28 -- and every Tuesday -- Hilo Toastmasters Club will meet virtually on Zoom between noon and 1 p.m. Improve your public speaking skills through practice speeches, attentive listening, and giving and receiving feedback. Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that operates clubs for the purpose of promoting communication, public speaking and leadership. On Saturday, Jan. 1, attend an Introductory Energy Medicine Certification Workshop at Halai Healing Place in Kailua-Kona or in Kapa'au. The workshop is held between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. In this beginning-level two-day class, students will learn about Eastern philosophies and the human energy system, focusing on the main chakra system and the body's natural healing mechanisms. Class size is limited, and registration is required. Everyone is welcome, and no experience is necessary. This Sunday, Jan. 2 -- and every Sunday-- be sure to visit the Farmers' Market at Hamakua Harvest, located at the intersection of Mamane Street and Highway 19 in Historic Honoka’a Town, Waimea.
