Hawaii County COVID-19 cases averaged 314 per day over past week

New COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County numbered down 51% over the past two weeks, with the average number of daily cases over the past week reaching 314, according to data from the state’s Department of Health.

The level of new daily COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County based on a seven-day average stands at 155.8 per 100,000 people, the agency reported.

The total number of coronavirus cases recorded on the Big Island since the pandemic began was 18,415, according to the department’s data. The current percentage of patients testing positive for the virus is unavailable.

The share of the Big Island’s population that is now fully vaccinated is 67%. And total COVID-19 deaths in Hawaii County now number 156. 

Over the past week, the number of coronavirus tests performed on the Big Island was unavailable, the Department of Health said.
