Mrs. Theresa Agnes “Teri” Murphy, age 73, of Kurtistown, Hawaii, died January 31, 2022 in the Hilo Medical Center. She was born in Marysville, California on February 25, 1948 and retired from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park as a Chief Dispatcher. She was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy and passed away after a short battle with Appendix Cancer. Visitation will be held at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo, Hawaii on February 26, 2022 (Saturday) from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Seating is limited. Face masks and social-distancing required. Casual attire is requested. She is survived by wife, Joan E. Fagerness of Kurtistown; daughters, Luahiwa (Max) Namahoe of Panaewa and Kathleen (Chris) Leonard of Hilo; sister, Nadine Murphy-Michel of Yuba City, California; brother, Mark Murphy of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews and numerous cousins.
