New COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County were down down 76% over the past two weeks, with the average number of daily cases over the past week reaching 10, according to data from the State of Hawaii Department of Health.
The level of new daily COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County, based on a seven-day average, stands at 5 per 100,000 people, the agency reported.
The total number of coronavirus cases recorded on the Big Island since the pandemic began is 26,089, according to the department’s data. The current percentage of patients testing positive for the virus is 1.7.
The share of the Big Island’s population that is now fully vaccinated is 68%. And total COVID-19 deaths in Hawaii County now number 182.
Over the past week, the number of average daily coronavirus tests performed on the Big Island was 440, the Department of Health said.
