Mr. Anthony Everett Gomes, age 84, of Kaapahu, Honokaa, Hawaii, died March 6, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Kalopa, Hawaii on March 17, 1937 and retired from the County of Hawaii Department of Water Supply as the District Supervisor for the Waimea District. He was a Rancher and formerly employed by the State of Hawaii Department of Fish & Game. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, Hawaii, Hawaii Saddle Club and active with the Honokaa High School Class of 1955. He was also a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Visitation will be held on March 26, 2022 (Saturday) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa, Hawaii from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Kalopa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire is requested. He is survived by wife, Edna C. Gomes of Kaapahu; daughter, Toni Ann (John Mac) Kalauli of Kaapahu; sons, Ryan Anthony Gomes of Kaapahu and Kris Everett (Alayna) Gomes of Kaapahu; sisters, Madeline Furtado of Oregon and Frances DeRego of Honokaa; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
