Ka'u High and Pahala Elementary School inducts new members to National Honor Society

Ka'u High and Pahala Elementary School recently held a ceremony to induct 15 new members to the prestigious National Honor Society (NHS). 

According to the school's website, the following Ka'u High and Pahala Elementary School students were inducted into the National Honor Society on April 1: Heidi T. Vidal, Keahionalani Forcum, Erica Tabilin, Calaysa A. Koi, Mark Angelo Velasco, Timothy S. Moskalenko, Danny Eder, Shemayah Doi, David Zachary Ramos, Jasmine K. del Rosario, Cherrisse Althea D. Calumpit, Amelia M. Uribe-Bounos, Morgan S. Pierpont, Tayler L. Rasmussen and Kelson A. Gallano. 

Established in 1921, the NHS strives to enhance student learning and school commitment to the values of scholarship, service, leadership and character, according to the NHS website. More than one million students participate in NHS activities and chapters are established in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and many places around the world. NHS celebrated its centennial anniversary in March 2021.

Founded in 1881, Ka’u High and Pahala Elementary School is a small school for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The school’s mission is to offer a safe and effective learning environment for its students and to make sure students are responsible, ethical, adaptable, life-long learners before graduating and heading off to college.
