Gov. David Ige (D-HI) is trying to boost Hawaii's economy and create jobs.
That’s the purpose behind the release of $276,557,732 for several Capital Improvement Projects. The funds, which began being released in February and March of this year, will be administered by various state departments, according to the governor's website.
“These investments in communities around the state provide the best and most direct way to drive our economy and create jobs for our people, and they help to improve the daily experience of our residents and those who visit Hawaii,” Ige said, according to this website.
The list of projects is long and varied. They included the construction of car rental facilities at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Oahu, construction of housing for the homeless in Wai’anae, road improvements throughout the state, installation of wastewater treatment facilities statewide and improvement and renovations of educational buildings. The projects will take place all across the state and impact a multitude of services.
