New COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County were up 51% over the past two weeks, with the average number of daily cases over the past week reaching 66, according to data from the state’s Department of Health.
The level of new daily COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County based on a seven-day average stands at 32.8 per 100,000 people, the agency reported.
The total number of coronavirus cases recorded on the Big Island since the pandemic began was 27,707, according to the department’s data. The current percentage of patients testing positive for the virus is 9.0.
The share of the Big Island’s population that is now fully vaccinated is 68%. And total COVID-19 deaths in Hawaii County now number 186.
Over the past week, the number of coronavirus tests performed on the Big Island was 438, the Department of Health said.
