New COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County were up 18.3% over the past two weeks, with the average number of daily cases over the past week reaching 107, according to data from the state’s Department of Health.
The level of new daily COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County based on a seven-day average stands at 53.2 per 100,000 people, the agency reported.
The total number of coronavirus cases recorded on the Big Island since the pandemic began was 29,275, according to the department’s data. The current percentage of patients testing positive for the virus is 13.9.
The share of the Big Island’s population that is now fully vaccinated is 68%. And total COVID-19 deaths in Hawaii County now number 189.
Over the past week, the number of coronavirus tests performed on the Big Island was 511, the Department of Health said.
