Mr. Gary “Iggy” Hajime Iwaoka, age 78, of Hilo, Hawaii, died April 28, 2022 in the Life Care Center of Hilo. He was born in Hilo, Hawaii on December 25, 1943 and retired as the Operations Manager of the Volcano House, Nani Mau Gardens and Naniloa Hotel. He was a United States Army veteran and an avid golfer, bowler, fisherman and member of the Lehua Jaycees.
Private services were held.
He is survived by:

Daughter: Kari (Keenen) Yoshimura of Hilo
Step-Daughters: Kim Fujiyama of Hilo and Kristie Kosmides of Hilo
Step-Son: Ian (Christine) Fujiyama of Virginia
Brothers: Dennis (Sandra) Iwaoka of Hilo, Clayton Iwaoka of Hilo and Harris (Cathy) Iwaoka of Hilo
Sisters-in-laws: Yuko Nakayama of Hilo, Ellen (George) Mabuni of Cerritos, California, Naomi (Melvin) Matsumoto of Honolulu and Sung Hui Nakayama of Hilo
Brother-in-law: Peter (Pat Blake) Nakayama of Hilo
