Mrs. Toyoko K. Ishizu, age 94, of Hilo, Hawaii, died April 13, 2022 in the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. She was born in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii on December 24, 1927 and retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Education, working most of her teaching career as an elementary school teacher at Hilo Union School. She was an avid golfer and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hawaii Island Retired Teachers Association (H.I.R.T.A.), Hawaii State Teachers Association (H.S.T.A.) Retirees and Kaumana Terrace Kumiai. Private services held. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings). She is survived by son, Michael Ishizu of Hilo; sisters, Emily Minei of Waimea (Kauai), Jane Muller of Honolulu and Jean Hee of Honolulu; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
