Notice is Hereby Given that the Hawai‘i County Council will be conducting this meeting via interactive conference technology (ICT) pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statutes §92-3.5. Council Members will be participating via ICT at the:

Bill 156: AMENDS CHAPTER 19, ARTICLE 7, SECTION 19-53, OF THE HAWAIʻI COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY TAX VALUATION; CONSIDERATIONS IN FIXING

Establishes that the value of property classified as apartment, hotel and resort, commercial, industrial, agricultural or native forests, or conservation cannot be assessed by the County at more than 15 percent than the previous year’s assessed value for that property.

Appropriates revenues in the State Grants – Gorse Pilot Program account ($500,000); and appropriates the same to the Gorse Pilot Program account. Funds would be used to renovate the Feed Mill at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and to study the potential of new feedstock sources.
