Kona Commons announced recently that a 320,000-square-foot shopping complex is fully leased.

Tenant occupancy, according to a company release, has grown steadily through the year. The addition of four tenants this year in newly created spaces pushed the Center to full capacity.

“This day marks an impressive milestone for Kona Commons, Tedd Hedrick, the vice president of Leasing and Property Management, said. “We are honored to be the home to many well-liked retailers, eateries, and service amenities. We value our relationships with each of them immensely.  Kona Commons truly offers something for everyone. We look forward to continuing that commitment.”

The shopping center features 27 national and locally owned service amenities, shops, and restaurants throughout 10 acres in Kailua-Kona. The four merchants who moved in this year include Island Naturals Market & Deli, Skechers, Majestic Nails, and most recently, Aloha Grown.

Mark Turner, owner of the Dairy Queen at Kona Commons that 2013, called it “the best mall in Kona.” His business recently received the DQ Pride Award for Excellence. “We’re the only store in Hawaii that received this award and one of the only two in the West region,” Turner said.

Randy Kurohara of Aloha Grown said he chose Kona Commons for its record of attracting a diverse group of locals as well as visitors. The shopping center opted in 2021 to partner with artist Siena Baldi to convey the message of being able to find “everything from A to Z” at Kona Commons.
