Stanley Susumu Nishihara, 81, of Hilo died Sept. 26 at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born in Hilo, he was a retired automotive mechanic at the former Hilo Motors and an avid bowler. Visitation from 2–3 p.m. Monday (October 17, 2022) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; memorial service at 3. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Glenn (Maria Victoria) Nishihara of Hilo, Paul Nishihara of Honolulu; grandchildren, Janathan (Maizie) Castaneda of New Mexico, Justin Castaneda of Hilo; siblings, Shigeko Hirano of Hilo, Royden (Rose) Nishihara of Honolulu, Ellen (Clifford) Misaka of Torrance, California; sister-in-law, Elaine Nishihara of Honolulu; numerous nieces and nephews.
