Lionel Medeiros, Jr., 68, of Pahoa died on Oct. 9 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a sugar cane truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company and a flagman for the State of Hawaii Highways Division. Visitation from 5–6 p.m. Tuesday (October 25, 2022) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; prayer service at 6. Cremation to follow. Casual attire. Family requests no flowers. Survived by wife, Maria “Precy” Medeiros of Pahoa; son, Conrad (Mary) Medeiros of Mountain View; siblings, Michael (Josephine) Medeiros of Hilo, Clara Kahualii of Kurtistown, Janice (Hale, Sr.) Pekelo of Mountain View; sister-in-law, Bernadette Lance of Toronto-Ontario, Canada; five grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous nieces, nephews and two aunts.
