Maria “Louisa” Santiago, 93, of Hawi, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. She was born on May 12, 1929 in Kona, Hawaii. She was a housewife, mother and a member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Also a member of the former Kohala Puerto Rican Club. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday (Mar. 18, 2023) at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Mass at 10 a.m.; burial to follow at Halawa Catholic Cemetery. Survived by, daughters, Camilia Santiago of North Kohala and Krisann (Samuel Dean) Santiago-Dean of North Kohala; step-son, Gilbert (Millie) Santiago of California; step-daughter, Rose Marie “Linda” Pohina of Hilo; sister, Austacia “Annie” Travens of Kona; grandsons, Christopher and Arden; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
