Steven Kalani Angay Sr. passed away suddenly at his home on January 19, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He attended Keaukaha Elementary, Waiakea Kai Intermediate, and graduated from Hilo High School in 1963.
He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran and retired a Plumber.
He lived in Keaukaha for most of his life before moving to Eden Rock Estates about twenty years ago.
He was a kind and loving man that loved being outdoors, helping family, friends and people in the community. When he wasn't helping others, he loved to go hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the VFW Hilo Post 3875, Plumber's and Pipe Fitters Local 675, and Puhi Bay Ohana.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Feb. 15, 2023) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; Memorial Service at 10 a.m.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leon Angay and Elsie Hiiakaikapoliokapuopele Mokuhali’i Rodriguez; his brothers Nelson “Kealoha” Mokuhali’i, Gilbert “Kaula” Angay, Jacob “Kekeina” Angay and Joseph “Kaikuana” Angay.
He was survived by his wife Blanche Angay of Eden Roc Estates; Son - Steven Kalani Angay Jr (Melissa); three grandchildren - Sarah, Eric, and Samuel of Lexington Park, Maryland. A brother - Leonard “Kaulaokalani” (Rose Marie “Butchie”) Angay of Kona, a sister - June “Leina’ala” Brady of Paradise Park.
