Stephanie Jean Castillo, 74, of Hilo and formerly of Kauai, died Mar. 8 at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was an Emmy Award winning independent film maker. A celebration of her life will take place from 1 p.m. Sunday (May 28, 2023) at the Lydgate Beach Park Main Pavilion on Kauai. Casual attire. Survived by siblings, Zenaida (Richard) Sawyer of Hilo, Diane (Ivan) Ward of Vacaville, Calif., Leslie (Garrett) Scales of Lawai, Kauai, Patricia (Clifford) Furtado of Kapaa, Kauai, Joanne (Peter) Brun of Keaau, Ami (Jan) Vegara of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
