Janette Jane Carreira, 87, of Honomu, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Hilo, born on December 24, 1935, in Hilo; she was a homemaker, farmer and a 4H Leader and also a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Honomu, Friends may call on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Honomu, Visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Mauna Kea Memorial Park in Papaikou She is survived by son, Raymond (Momi Aipa) Carreira of Hilo; daughters, Phyllis Lawrence and Ramona (Stafford) Uemura of Honomu and Nanci (Guy Taylor) Merck of Ewa Beach, Oahu; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Manuel "Donald" Martins, III and David (Demetra) Martins of Hilo; sisters, Vivian Rice of Texas and Susan (Alvin) Medeiros of Hilo; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
