Gerald “Jerry” Agapito Asuncion, 76, of Hilo and formerly of Amaulu Camp 1, Passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at residence, born on August 19, 1946, in Hilo; he was a Warehouseman for The Burke Company, Wire Products, HD Supply and White Cap Construction Supply. He also was a Veteran in the US Army National Guard and a member of the Hukilau, Paramount Grill Boxing Clubs under Jack Matsui. Friends may call on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; Visitation from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Funeral Services at 4:30 p.m. Casual Attire Cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory He is survived by wife, Carmen Asuncion of Hilo; daughters, Janelle Asuncion and Jill Asuncion of Hilo; hanai son, Sunny C. Hilderbrand of Hilo; two grandchildren, Kylie Asuncion and Mykah Asuncion Wailani; brothers, George (Isabel) Asuncion of Pahoa, Rodney Asuncion of Pahoa and Bernard (Aileen) Asuncion of Papaikou; sisters, Frances Arakaki of Hilo, Lorraine (Boni) Celoza of Honolulu and Priscilla Mandaloniz of Pahoa; brothers in-law, Robert Satomba of Kaumana, Rudy Tabajunda of Keaau and Jose Tabajunda of Fresno, California; sister in-law, Elena Sawyer of Honolulu; aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews.
