Rodolfo “Rudy” Cabatu, 85 of Laupahoehoe, died on March 17, 2023 at Life Care Center of Hilo, Born in Paauilo, he was a retired electrician from Dept. of Water and Hamakua Sugar Company; graduated from Laupahoehoe High & Elem School & Hawaii Community College. He also was a U.S Navy Veteran. Former member of ILWU chapter 142.; Friends may call on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Visitation starts at 9-10:30 a.m. at Dodo Mortuary; Funeral Service at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire. Cremation to follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory Survived by sons, Dexter (Yvonne) Egdamin of Hilo, and Jason Lance Cabatu of Laupahoehoe; daughters, Deborah (Sonny) Avenue of Pahala, Dale Egdamin of Hilo, Diana “Tini” Matushita (Aaron) of Kealakekua and Kriste (Kevin Curry) Cabatu of Puna; sisters, Christine Salvador of Hilo and Mary Bona of Ewa Beach; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.
