Michael John Feeney, 74, of Kailua-Kona, HI died on March 18, 2023. Mike was born in Beaumont, TX on December 19, 1948; however, shortly thereafter the family moved to the state of Missouri. Mike spent his growing up years in Kansas City, MO. He graduated in 1973 from UMKC (University of Missouri at Kansas City) with a masters teaching degree in history. Mike spent 23 years teaching at Harry S Truman High School in Independence, MO. Upon retirement in 1996, Mike relocated to Kailua-Kona, HI. Mike was very happy with his life on the Big Island. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, a board member of the Kona Education Center, and a member of Malulani Gardens Association. Mike was a prize winning exotic orchid grower. Mike is survived by his younger sister, Kathy LeTourneau and niece, Lauren LeTourneau, both of Kansas City, MO. Mike is also survived by a multitude of friends. Mike considered his friendships one of his biggest blessings in life. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in April.
