ACF Kona Kohala Chefs host December event

The American Culinary Federation Kona Kohala Chefs Association and Sysco will be hosting Christmas with the Chefs at Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 pm. The event will include flavorful dishes and treats made by Chefs and local culinary students.

According to a Howzit Kohala press release, the event is not only limited to cuisine. They list other offerings as local ales, wines, handcrafted cocktails, and 100 percent Kona coffee. They also note that there will be music, dancing, and a silent auction with gifts from local businesses.

Now in its 32nd year, this annual fundraiser provides support to both local culinary students at Hawai‘i Community College—Palamanui and members of the Kona Kohala Chefs who are seeking to advance their education, per the press release. The silent auction serves as a means to assist the Palamanui culinary program by contributing to the ACF Kona Kohala Chefs and Jean Hull Endowment fund. Originally known as "Christmas at Hulihee," the event has relocated to different venues throughout its history. Its primary mission, centered around scholarships, has successfully generated over $900,000 in funds.

As mentioned in the release, you can purchase early bird tickets online until October 22nd for $135 per person, and starting on October 23rd, they will be priced at $150 per person. VIP tables for groups of 10 people are available for $1,750, which provide reserved seating and table service. Additionally, the host hotel is offering a $10 discount on parking for all event attendees. The hotel is also having an exclusive room rate offer with perks for attendees of the event, starting at $189. To secure your tickets, please visit ChristmasWithTheChefs.RSVPify.com.
