Kona Aloha Singers to host Spring concert 'Journey Into The Holidays' December 3

The Kona Aloha Singers (KAS) have announced they will be hosting a spring concert titled 'Journey Into The Holidays' on Dec. 3, according to a statement by the group. The event will take place at King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, starting from 4pm.

"The Kona Aloha Singers are an adult music chorus that specializes in contemporary/popular music", said a Howzit Kohala press release. In this concert, audiences can expect performances of songs by artists such as One Republic, Pink, Maroon 5, Rascal Flatts, The Beach Boys and Miley Cyrus among others. Comprising of the ensemble are 35 singers and eight musicians which include notable soloists Brother Nolan and Binti Bailey with Justine Smith serving as the emcee.

A highlight of this concert is the debut of KAS's new artistic director Delaney Yuko Ross. According to the same press release, Ross's rich background includes classical voice training at Manhattan School of Music, a B.A. in ethnomusicology from Barnard College at Columbia University and an M.S. in education from University of Edinburgh. Ross was reportedly working towards her doctorate in ethnomusicology at UCLA before joining HPA's faculty.

The concert's accompaniment will be provided by lifelong island resident Dale Ross who is known for her role as a pianist for Kona's Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity Choir and active involvement in Aloha Theater musical productions.

Tickets for this event are available online at konaalohasingers.org with advanced tickets priced at $20 for adults and $5 for children while tickets at the door will cost $25 for adults and $7 for children. "The Kona Aloha Singers is also a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is currently accepting donations", according to the press release.
