Hawaii County Policy Committee on Planning, Land Use, and Development will meet Sept. 3.

Notice is Hereby Given that the Hawai‘i County Council will be conducting this meeting via interactive conference technology (ICT) pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statutes §92-3.5. Council Members will be participating via ICT at the:

• Kona Council Chambers, West Hawai‘i Civic Center, 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway, Building A Members of the public may also attend from this location.

Public Attendance via Courtesy Site is available at the following locations:

• Old Kohala Courthouse, 54-3900 Akoni Pule Highway, Kapaʻau;

• Pāhoa Council Office, 15-2879 Pāhoa Village Road; and

• Ocean View Community Association, 92-8924 Leilani Circle.

If a courtesy site is unavailable and/or participation is disrupted, the scheduled meeting will continue.

Repeals Section 25-4-16 through Section 25-4-16.3 relating to Short-term

Vacation Rentals and establishes new provisions for Transient Accommodation Rentals and Hosting Platforms for Transient Accommodation Rentals.

Bill 134: AMENDS CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE 2, SECTION 25-2-42 OF THE HAWAIʻI (Draft 2) COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO AMENDMENTS INITIATED BY PROPERTY OWNERS AND OTHER PERSONS

Adds a provision requiring the Planning Director to submit a subject area building entitlement report to the applicable planning commission and the County Council for each change of zoning district application. The report would identify permits, approvals, or other lawful entitlements allowing for the construction of a building or buildings on any parcel of land within a quarter-mile radius of the parcel for which the change of zoning district is sought.
