17-year-old arrested for terroristic threats towards Waiākea High School
A 17-year-old male juvenile has been arrested and charged with terroristic threatening in connection with a threat made towards Waiākea High School in Hilo, Hawaii. The arrest was made on September 7 after a Waiākea High School student received a threat via social media. The teenager, who is a student at Hilo High School, was apprehended at his residence in Hilo.

HPD opens investigation into arrow shooting at Hāpuna Beach Park
The Hawaii Police Department (HPD) has opened an investigation into an incident at Hāpuna Beach Park where a woman was struck by an arrow. Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) are leading the second-degree assault investigation after the victim reported being shot with an arrow while walking to her car on Wednesday evening, September 6.

According to the Hawai'i Police Department, a 39-year-old Hilo man was arrested for assaulting a police officer.

The Hawai'i Police Department (HPD) issued a media release on July 25 on an investigation into the death of a 17-year-old at a beach in Kailua-Kona, according to are release from the HPD. The teen was found unresponsive on the ocean floor, and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the death.

According to a media release issued by the Hawai'i Police Department, a 38-year-old woman was arrested for charges related to abuse, assault, and the promotion of a dangerous drug. HPD reports the woman abused her 4-year-old daughter, assaulted her 74-year-old neighbor, and was found in possession of methamphetamine following an incident at 10:45 p.m. Friday, July 21.

During the week of Dec. 6 through Dec. 12, 2021, Hawai`i Island police arrested 19 motorists for driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Three of the drivers were involved in a traffic accident. Two of the drivers were under the age of 21.
