Hawaiʻi County Establishes Arrival Testing to Ensure Community’s Safety

Under an amendment to Mayor Harry Kim’s COVID-19 Emergency Rule No. 12, travelers arriving on Hawai‘i Island from out of state who have chosen to participate in the State’s pre-test program to bypass the mandatory 14-day self-quarantine period will now be required to take a County administered COVID-19 test upon arrival to Hawai'i Island.

SOLID WASTE DIVISION: Appliance (White Goods) Collection Service Reopens at County Transfer Stations

Hawaii County Solid WASTE Division issued the following announcement on October 14.The Solid Waste Division is reopening its appliance collection services at the following transfer stations:  Hilo, Kea‘au, Pāhoa, Volcano, Wai‘ōhinu, Pāhala, Ke‘ei, Kealakehe, Puakō, Waimea, Hāwī, Honoka‘a, and Laupāhoehoe.
