Graduates earn 942 degrees from the University of Hawaii at Hilo

About 22.2 percent of the 942 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Hilo conferred 129 bachelor's degrees and 80 doctor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in pharmacy. Data shows the school gave out 75 doctor's degrees in pharmacy, followed by 75 bachelor's degrees in kinesiology and exercise science and 69 bachelor's degrees in pharmacy.

The university enrolled 3,406 students for 2017-18, including 2,816 in undergraduate programs and 590 in graduate programs.
