Hawaii's new air ambulance jets will help further the speed of emergency responses for all on the Hawaiian Islands.

KITV reports that an addition of a second jet stationed in Hilo, with the first being stationed on O'ahu, will help to cut "response time in half for Hawaii Island residents" in the case of an emergency.

"With Hilo also being one of the biggest contributors in air medicine and air medical transfers, we wanted to make sure that we were servicing the most broad area that we could," a flight medic with The Hawaii Emergency Airlift (HEAL), Charlene Roanquin, said.

According to the KITV report, HEAL accepts Medicaid and Medicare. More jet stations are planned to be added in the future to each major island of the Hawaiian Islands, but no date was clarified in the report.

HEAL is the "only independently owned and locally operated air medical service provider," the HEAL website stated.

The HEAL website said the aircraft uses the "latest medical and aviation technology," which ensures each patient receives the "highest standard of care and safety."

According to the HEAL website, the professional flight medics on each HEAL jet is "highly trained and experienced medical staff." These medics are further lead by a "team of executives with decades of medevac industry experience in the islands."
