Most mainland visitors are satisfied with their recent trips to Hawaii despite COVID-19 restrictions and mandates, according to a Hawaii Tourism Authority survey, which was conducted by Anthology.
The survey noted that 94% of visitors said that their trip met or exceeded their expectations. It was also noted that younger visitors under age 35, as well as first-time visitors, were more likely to feel their trip exceeded their expectations.
Out of all of the travelers that were surveyed, 99% were aware of local government mandates such as the wearing of masks, and another 96% were aware of closures and restrictions for most visitor attractions. Fewer than 1% of the travelers claimed to be unaware of the protocols and mandates in place.
Despite many saying that their trip was enjoyable, 39% of the travelers said it would have been better if more attractions and beaches were open.
