Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA) is a tuition-free, Western Association of Schools and Colleges accredited, public charter school with campuses on the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, Maui and Oahu. It offers transformative education that engages learners to connect with the world.

With elementary (kindergarten to fifth grade), middle school (grades six to eight) and high school (grades nine to 12) divisions, HTA says it offers programs that incorporate an innovative blended learning model, providing students with a combination of face-to-face instruction, virtual instruction and independent learning. Students only have to come to campus on scheduled days.

“Our educational approach is founded on the belief that learners learn best by doing and by engaging in relevant learning experiences that help them make connections between themselves and the world,” HTA says on its website.

Serving more than 1,200 students on all four campuses, HTA provides the learners a comprehensive curriculum aligned to the Hawaii state standards and the national Common Core State standards.

The schools' innovative learning approach empowers its students to become critical thinkers, allowing them to identify their own paths to success, HTA says, and its blended learning model is an avenue to create a true parent-teacher partnership.

Hawaii Technology Academy is not a private school, online school or a homeschool program but a school that offers a different format.
